It’s about time Beach House has been featured on Daytrotter and to be honest I am not surprised it’s after this album that they performed for the online Indie site. Teen Dream from Beach House has received insane critical acclaim throughout the industry and have recently performed on Jimmy Fallon’s late night tv show as well as various premiere parties such as being selected for Spin magazine’s album release show. The songs that were chosen by Beach House couldn’t be more appropriate considering they are all probably the top songs on the album and that’s hard to say since the album is listenable from cover to cover. Beach House opens up with my favorite track on the album “Walk In The Park” which is a beautiful slow moving track that picks up into a more poppy chorus than their earlier work, but a true sign of their final transformation as a band. The other tracks that are performed are their new single “Zebra”, “Take Care” which talks about a conversation she has with a snake and “Used To Be” their original single they produced when first signed to Sub Pop records. It took me a while to really get into this band but once I did I’m glad I went back to listen those 3rd and 4th times to finally get into this truly original act. Do yourself a favor and check out this Daytrotter session because they sound just as good on the album as they do here.
