Southern California Garage Pop band Japanese Motors has just recently put out a live studio EP featuring 7 new tracks recorded for the Luxury Wafers website which specializes in Live Studio Versions of songs. It’s been awhile since they have released any new material considering they were touring extensively including opening for Modest Mouse on their nation wide tour. The band known for singing about surfing, drinking, partying late night and girls has not changed in the slightest after releasing this for Luxury Wafers. Most people into the surfing scene will notice that lead singer and guitar player is professional long boarder Alex Knost who now seems to be splitting his time equally with the band and surfing. The music is catchy and fun to listen to especially at just chilled out parties during a warm summer’s night as well as post surf sessions. Anybody who is a fan of indie music and simplistic pop rock that has a surf and garage sound I would highly suggest checking out their debut LP as well as buying this 7 track EP for only $3.99 on iTunes! I’ve also provided the link for the Luxury Wafers website below so you can check out other bands on their as well as download one of the tracks by Japanese Motors titled “Whatever” for free. Listening to the Japanese Motors this time of year makes me can’t wait for those walks back from surfing to the ever gracious Ogden House on 2nd Avenue in Manasquan, NJ.
