After reading a Rolling Stone article a few months back about Lil’ Wayne I thought to myself, “Thank God, a good rapper isn’t some gang banging idiot who tries to act hard in interviews.” He seemed pretty cool and even admitting to not actually being as hard as people might think considering he didn’t have that much of a bad past compared to his contemporaries. He really only admitted that he enjoyed smoking heavy amounts of marijuana and singing about the streets where he actually did grow up.
So what is this I’m hearing about Lil’ Wayne getting busted for gun possession and possibly facing up a year in prison after his plea bargain? Luckily for him he didn’t shoot himself in the leg like Plaxico Burress because you might get locked up for 2 years instead of only getting one for murdering dozens of dogs down South. Still, I don’t understand what Lil’ Wayne needs a gun for, especially after admitting he has no serious troubled past and every rapper in the country loves and wants to work with him. I guess I’m too white to understand the importance of packing heat when your life isn’t being threatened whatsoever. The only thing I can think of is that Lil’ Wayne is too dumb to know the laws for the state he was in or is just using this as publicity stunt because everyone knows the charges will be dropped.
