I was reading an article recently about the band Thrice whose album Beggars is coming out in early October, recently got leaked immediately after it was mastered.  From what it sounds like it seems it’s the same day it made the trip over to their label Vagrant Records.  The early release that is out there is apparantly the master version where it’s not complete because the label has to remaster it to take off the Vagrant Records voiceovers in each song before it starts as a copyright protection.

The reason I am mainly talking about this is because it is pretty insane that an album can be released so early that people are stealing it before it’s even in complete mastered form.   Wow, is pretty much the way to describe this and it’s pretty sad that somebody in Vagrant who works for a company that depends on albums not being leaked did this.  I am not going to be Holier than thou about this because I am guilty as anyone to download some of my favorite bands releases early but I will always go out and by the hardcopy or vinyl if released just because I understand how hard some of these guys work to put this out.  It’s a shame it happened to a band like this because apparantly they are great guys who do a lot for their fans and their community.  It’s also a shame of how record labels can’t even keep their own employees from stealing an album that has only one copy in existence in their hands to be remastered by them!!!!
