Cool Local Band

I was at The Columns in Avon last Thursday munching on some king crab legs and mini burgers and heard this band called More Light playing some original music in the raw bar area.  They were really cool and had an original sound to them that made them sound like some obscure indie band that should be on like Sub Pop’s label.  They had a singer who played guitar, a drummer and a back up singer who played a keyboard using mostly The Doors style keys and trippy key effects that gave them a sound of their own.  A friend of ours who knew them told them that their were some Modest Mouse fans in the crowd so they ripped into a Dramamine/Trailer Trash melody that was so fucking cool I started cheering like a girl, unfortunately.  Either way I couldn’t find them on myspace but will be at the Columns again and should see them their again since they apparantely play every Thursday.  Hopefully I can get a hold of one of them and talk to them about getting some demo’s to throw up here as well as their schedule for the summer at other places.  If you see the band More Light playing around you I suggest checking them out, good party music!
