Austin….we shall see you again?

So. Texas. Texas Goddamit. We eased on into the state a couple days back after about an eight hour drive, delirious, smelly and exhasuted from driving.  It’s funny how everyone everwhere has such a skewed view of different areas of the country and world for that matter.  It was obvious that we were in Bible Country, but not overly obvious, at least the places we visited. The people have been nice, the food has been yum a rum in our bellies and the music scene in Austin is the genuine artcile.  Unlike New York, where people stand, stare, and look more jaded than the actual musicians playing their depressing melodies; the city has a sense of music is truly all about….we staggered (staggered being an undestsatment)from various bars catching a variety of different types of music, all swell.  We played our asses off in Autin last night on a stage where the AC broke, the whole club was scorching and we merely passed out while playing; a real old school sweatey, dirty show bringing the best out in us.  Since I was a young aspiring artist, I promised myself I would make it to Austin to play with Thing-One; and we did!  We sold a couple albums and T Shirts as well…Ogden, we heart you as well as two lovely ladies that bought two small shirts….Austin was unreal.  South By Southwest….we WILL be there, and we will play a shit load of gigs.  Austin. So  far, Dave The Couch has been the MVP of the trip….hysterically positive and really something else.
