Album Review

In the midst of me being out of my element this weekend, I realized I should of did an album review on the new cKY album Carver City because it rips and also it’s a breath of fresh air from their previous release.  The album is actually less mainstream and less mainstream is always a good thing especially in rock music because when its cheesed up, it doesn’t rock.  It’s also actually a miracle this album came out considering the band had broke up halfway through the recording process and weren’t on good terms for about a year (Sources say).  Once the album was completed after the band got back together, the lead singer claimed this was their finest work to date and to tell you the truth it’s pretty damn close.  The opening track “Hellions On Parade” sets the tone for the album and just flat out slaps tits, it has that grungy guitar riff intro that only cKY can pull off and it leads into big choruses and lyrics about violence and destruction and all that mushy stuff.  The following track “…And She Never Returned” is solid as well with some cool vocal effects and guitar riffs that just proceed with the rest of the album.  And to be honest their are a few weaker songs but the album as a whole is solid and will satisfy any cKY fan or draw in new fans.  The album is out on Roadrunner Records and can be picked up at any music carrying store, but try and pick it up at your local independent records store if their are any near you anymore.  Stay involved and keep listening.
